On 30 August 2024, the European Commission issued a statement stating that, in response to an application submitted by Glass Fiber Europe on 3 June 2024, it would impose anti-dumping and countervailing duties on glass fiber filament (continuous filament of glass fiber) originating in China Review Investigation. EU CN (Combined Nomenclature) codes of the products involved: 7019 11 00, e.g. 7019 12 00, 7019 14 00 and 7019 15 00 (EU TARIC codes: 7019 12 00 22, 7019 12 00 25, 7019 12 00 26, 7019 12 00 39). The investigation period for this case is from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024.
On December 17, 2009, the EU launched an anti-dumping investigation into Chinese fiberglass strands. On March 15, 2011, the EU adopted a final anti-dumping ruling against Chinese fiberglass strands. On March 15, 2016, the EU launched its first anti-dumping investigation into Chinese fiberglass filaments. On April 25, 2017, the European Commission issued its first final anti-dumping decision regarding glass fiber yarns of Chinese origin. On April 21, 2022, the European Commission launched a second anti-dumping investigation into glass fiber yarns of Chinese origin.
On December 12, 2013, the European Union launched a compensation investigation into glass fiber strands of Chinese origin. On December 23, 2014, the EU made a final decision banning subsidies in this case. On 17 December 2019, the EU conducted its first investigation into ending subsidies for glass fiber filaments of Chinese origin. On February 25, 2021, the EC issued an affirmative final decision on dismissal of the case.
